New York Comic Con News—At the New York Comic Con Vertigo Executive Editor Karen Berger announced that Doctor Who scribe Paul Cornell is writing a new series Saucer Country, which Vertigo will publish starting in February. Ryan Kelly will provide the art for the saga of a Latina Governor of New Mexico, who is abducted by aliens in the midst of a presidential campaign and learns that Earth is facing an imminent invasion. But how does she raise the alarm in the middle of a presidential campaign where the media is ready to pounce on any candidate who shows any sign of weakness or a “crazy” streak.
Berger also announced that over the next few months Vertigo was making the transition to simultaneous digital and print publication of its ongoing comic book series including Sweet Tooth (with issue #26), Spaceman (issue #1 on Oct. 26th), The Unwritten (with #31 on November 9th), iZombie (with #19 on November 16th), The Unwritten .5 (with issue #31.5 on Nov. 23rd), Fables (with issue #112 on Dec. 21st), American Vampire (with #22 on Dec. 28th), and Hellblazer (with #287 on January 18th).
