Captain Action Enterprises has announced that veteran toy sculptor Tim Bruckner will be producing sculpts for the 2012 Captain Action toy line. Created in the 1960s, Captain Action is the “chameleon” of superhero action figures, a toy that can be changed into a variety of characters simply by changing his costume.

Captain Action Enterprises revived the Captain Action toy line in 2008 (see “Captain Action Returns in ’08”), and the character returns this spring with the first portion of a new 2012 lineup that debuts in March and includes such Marvel characters as Spider-Man, Thor, and Captain America.  Bruckner is working on masks for Thor, Red Skull, Hawkeye, and Iron Man that will ship this year (see “Dr. Evil Comes With Three Brains” for info on Captain Action products shipping in March and July).

Tim Bruckner is a veteran toy designer and sculptor with over 40 years of experience with Mattel, Sideshow, Dark Horse, Hasbro, Toy Biz, Hallmark, and Gentle Giant.  He is perhaps best known for designing over 140 action figures for the DC Direct line.
