DC Comics has released the first images from Grant Morrison and Chris Burnham’s new Batman Incorporated comic book series, which debuts in May as part of the “second wave” of the “New 52” relaunch.  The “second wave” titles will replace the six series from the relaunch that DC has recently announced as canceled, a list that includes OMAC, Blackhawks, Hawk and Dove, Men of War, Static Shock, and Mister Terrific (see “DC Churns Six Titles”).  The first images from Batman Incorporated are uncolored designs for interior pages that hint that the new saga is going to be even crazier than the last Batman: Incorporated saga Leviathan Strikes, which appeared in 2011.

On DC’s The Source blog, editor Mike Marts described the series as “the final, unbelievable act of a saga six years in the making,” noting that, “along with his artistic partner-in-crime Chris Burnham, Grant delivers twists, turns, punches and reveals no reader will see coming.  Things pick up directly after the shocking cliffhanger of last year’s Leviathan Strikes one-shot—and only get crazier from there!”

The newly released images, which have been inked, but not colored, certainly are bizarre with Batman and Robin in a knockdown, drag-out struggle with what appear to be goat-masked villains (anyone catching a whiff of Satanism here?).
