Marvel Entertainment continues to get maximum mileage out of its very effective poster design for Joss Whedon’s Avengers, which opens nationwide on March 4th (see “New Avengers Movie Poster”). Three new banner posters, each of which features two members of the Avengers team, first appeared on the Lebanese movie site emileeid.com, which also reports that Whedon’s film cost $220 million to produce. Note that the poses of Hulk and Thor are identical in the banner posters and in the American theatrical poster, and that the devastated cityscape background elements are similar, though the images of Cap, Black Widow, Iron Man, and Hawkeye are clearly different.
