Dr Pepper is joining with Twentieth Century Fox for a major promotional campaign geared around the upcoming X-Men sequel.  Consumers will be able to win $100,000 in a contest in which winning tokens will be placed under the cap of specially marked X2 20-ounce bottles or inside specially marked 12 and 24 packs of Dr Pepper cans.  In addition to the big payoff, fans can also win movie tickets and 12-packs of Dr Pepper soda.

 

Dr Pepper is planning to produce a special commemorative can with pictures from the X2 film -- and in a promotion that's open to anyone with some spare change and a taste for soft drinks, fans will be able to trade in labels from 12 Dr Pepper X2 20-ounce plastic bottles and receive an exclusive Dr Pepper/X2 t-shirt.  The promotion will also extend to Dr Pepper's new brand 'Red Fusion.'

 

Dr Pepper plans to support the promotion with TV ads, outdoor advertising, and on a special X2 web site accessible through www.drpepper.com .
