Advance tracking indicates that The Amazing Spider-Man will open with $125 million in ticket sales over the six-day July 4th weekend, according to Hollywood Reporter.  Response is expected to be particularly strong among males and young women (who presumably are attracted by the relationship storyline, see "Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy").

That opening box office would put the Spider-Man reboot behind the original Spider-Man movies, although it wouldn’t be too far behind the first movie in the series, which debuted with $114.8 million on a three-day early May weekend in 2002.
