Comic-Con News:  Dark Horse Comics has announced that Brian Wood will be writing a new Star Wars comic book series that will launch in January of 2013.  The fact that Wood, who is one of the most accomplished writers working in comics today, has been chosen to write the new series, the fact that the book is set in the prime continuity hole between the first and the second original Star Wars movies (A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back), the fact that Carlos d’Anda (Batman: Arkham City) is creating the interior with Alex Ross providing the covers, and the fact that the new comic will be titled simply Star Wars all indicate that this marks a major reboot in Dark Horse’s Star Wars extensive roster of Star Wars publications.

Wood’s Star Wars, with its full roster of characters from the original Star Wars Trilogy, is an open invitation for lapsed readers of Star Wars comics to come back to the fold.
