Drive director Nicolas Winding Refn is working on an adaptation of the classic Alexandro Jodorowsky and Moebius bande dessinee The Incal, he told France Inter at Cannes. Refn’s new film, Only God Forgives, was shown there, and he dedicated the film to Jodorowsky.
Originally published as six bandes dessinees by Les Humanoides Associes between 1981 and 1988, L'Incal is often heralded by comics creators as one of the greatest series ever produced. The classic Jodorowsky and Moebius collaboration was recently re-released in an English deluxe hardcover format by Humanoids Inc. for North American audiences.
Danish director Refn has a couple of other irons in the fire: a new version of Logan’s Run (see "Gosling Off 'Logan's Run'"), and a Barbarella TV series (see "'Barbarella' on TV").
