Although no details concerning the pricing and special features have been released, Warner Home Video will be releasing the complete first season DVD collection for the popular Smallville TV series this September.  The multi-disk set will be released to coincide with the start of Smallville's third season on the WB network.  Smallville did well in its inaugural season, but really came into its own this year as rating soared (see 'Smallville Ratings Hit All-Time High'), a fact that certainly bodes well for sales of the first season DVD since many folks who currently watch the show evidently didn't do so during the first season.

The fact that some complete season DVD packages (Simpsons, Friends, Star Trek, etc.) have sold millions has led to an unprecedented number of such releases.  While series such as Saved By The Bell and Profiler are not necessarily prime fodder for pop culture stores, Smallville certainly is.  Stay tuned for more details.
