Cartoon Network will air Tenkai Knights, a new anime tied to a Spin Master Entertaiment toy line, beginning later this year, according to Today Licensing Worldwide. Spin Master is hoping for success similar to its last anime tie-in, Bakugan Battle Brawlers, a collectible game which was a massive hit in the toy aisle, due largely to its exposure on Cartoon Network. Spin Master is collaborating with Viz Media co-parent Shogakukan-Shueisha Productions (ShoPro) on the development of the property.
The series will tell the story of ordinary people changed to heroes as they go through an inter-dimensional portal.
A full 52 episodes is in production, along with Webisodes, an interactive Website, and the Spin Master toy line.
