Comic-Con News: Twentieth Century Fox has released the first promo image of the Sentinels, the mutant-hunting giant (3-stories-tall robots) from Trask Industries that play a key role in Bryan Singer’s upcoming X-Men: Days of Future Past. The promo image features a Sentinel’s Head with its eyes glowing an ominous red. In the Days of Future Past saga, the Sentinels are the veritable ruler/enforcers of a country that has devolved into a police state.
The promo image differs from the photos of prop sentinel heads, which have emerged from a Trask Industries display at the Hard Rock Hotel in San Diego. The highly polished metal heads in the display feature eyes that glow yellow. A viral marketing Website for Trask Industries that celebrates "50 Years of Human Progress" has also gone live. The site also features a polished Sentinel head and it directs visitors to the Trask Industries display at the Hard Rock, which includes propaganda posters from the Days of Future Past saga with themes like "Fighting the Mutant Threat," and "Mutants Are Our Enemies."
Singer’s X-Men Days of Future Past is slated to open nationwide on May, 23rd, 2014. Singer and Fox have conducting a savvy social media publicity campaign for the film by releasing photos of the film’s cast one at a time, most recently providing a first look at Omar Sy as Bishop ("First Look at Bishop From 'X-Men: Days of Future Past'").
