New York and online retailer Midtown Comics has opened a ‘feature shop” in the Toys R Us flagship store in Times Square in New York City.  The store within a store gives Midtown the opportunity to sell graphic novels, hardcovers, apparel, collectibles, and other products to patrons of the 110,000 square foot toy store.

The Times Square TRU has achieved landmark status, not only because of its size, but also because of the scale of some of its displays/attractions, including a 60-foot Ferris wheel, a life-sized Tyrannosaurus Rex, and a life-size Barbie dollhouse. 

This is Midtown’s second outpost in a landmark toy store; it opened a mini-boutique in FAO Schwarz on Fifth Avenue last year (see “Midtown Comics Opens Boutique in FAO Schwarz”).  Midtown operates three full retail stores in Manhattan, at Times Square, Grand Central, and downtown.
