Some Marvel movie tidbits leaked out on Tuesday, with news on the Avengers: Age of Ultron villain and a possible return of the Mandarin. James Spader, who’s been cast as Ultron (see "James Spader to Play Ultron"), will be more than a voice, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige told the Huffington Post. "I think it will be more than a voice role," he said, "we’ll be capturing his face and his body to create a whole performance."
Feige indicated that the role of Ultron will have multiple dimensions. "Ultron in the comics is a robot, but what’s cool about him in the comics--and certainly how Joss Whedon is interpreting him for the movie--is that he is much more than just a robot," he said. "That he’s infused with much character."
And Ben Kingsley, who played the Mandarin in Iron Man 3 (see "The Mandarin Featured in New 'Iron Man 3' Poster") dropped that he’s working on a "secret Marvel project" to the Belfast Telegraph. "I was with many members of the crew that were involved in Iron Man 3," he said.
Kingsley clearly relished working with Marvel. "They are at the top of their game, and they’re great company to keep," he said of the Marvel team.
Although the Mandarin role in Iron Man 3 seemed to be a dead end, speculation is mounting that it was a feint, and that Kingsley was the real Mandarin after all.
