Mathew Vaughn’s adaptation of Mark Millar and Dave Gibbons’ comic series The Secret Service has found its lead female villain in French-Algerian actress Sofia Boutella, according to Deadline.
Boutella will share antagonistic duty with Samuel L. Jackson against star Colin Firth. Boutella has been a dancer on Madonna’s Confessions world tour as well as appearing in some of her videos, worked as a runway model in Paris and for Nike in TV ads. She has had roles in French TV and film, but her only American movie credit was starring in 2012’s StreetDance 2.
Sophie Cookson was announced back in September to play the female lead (see "Sophie Cookson Gets Lead in 'The Secret Service'").
The Secret Service is scheduled for a November 2014 theatrical release.
