Dynamite Entertainment CEO Nick Barrucci believes sales on Legenderry #1, the first issue of the new high concept steampunk miniseries by Bill Willingham and Sergio Fernandez Davila (see "Willingham to Write Steampunk Crossover for Dynamite"), could reach 40,000 or more, he told ICv2. And Dynamite is giving it support worthy of its status, with full returnability with no threshold for comic retailers, house ads across the Dynamite line the week before the book comes out, and a major consumer contest promotion that launches around the release date of the first issue.
Barrucci explained his optimism. "I think that Legenderry will be one of our two best-selling titles in January, and actually expect it to sell higher than Fables if for no other reason than it’s Bill Willingham tapping into a new genre, and with so many Dynamite characters in one place," he said. Characters in the mini-series include Vampirella, Green Hornet, Kato, Steve Austin, Zorro, Red Sonja, Captain Victory, Flash Gordon, the Phantom, and others.
