Marvel will begin publishing new Miracleman comics by Neil Gaiman and Mark Buckingham, the team that created some of the character’s most memorable stories, in 2016, Marvel CCO Joe Quesada told Comic Book Resources. Marvel is going to begin reprinting the 1980s Marvelman/Miracleman material in January (see "'Miracleman' Returning in January"), and wants to finish its reprints before releasing new material. "I know that seems like a long way away, but the material is finally going ot see the light of day and will remain in print, and I think for that, we can all be grateful," Quesada said in the interview.
Marvel contacted every creator that worked on the material, and has been working to assemble original art or high quality photostats, leading Quesada to say that "the art will look as good if not better than the day it was published--with a nice new modern sheen, coloring and lettering to meet today’s standards."
