Feld Entertainment and Marvel Entertainment have finally revealed several female characters which will be featured in their Marvel Universe LIVE! Arena show; Black Widow, Captain Marvel, Maria Hill, Pepper Potts, Black Cat, and Madame Hydra will all have roles. The live arena shows by longtime Disney partner Feld (which produces Disney on Ice and Disney Live, see "Marvel Arena Shows") launch an 85-city North American tour next summer.
There has been some criticism over the last few weeks, as names of the "more than 25 iconic Marvel characters" were revealed, that no female leads had been announced (a common criticism leveled at the Hollywood establishment as they bring Marvel and DC titles to the screen in both movie and TV form).
Hero reveals thus far include Spider-Man; Avengers team members Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, Hulk, Hawkeye, and Falcon; and Nick Fury and various S.H.I.E.L.D. Agents.
Villains announced so far include Loki, Red Skull, Dr. Aldrich Killian, AIM, and the Chitauri Warriors, along with Spider-Man foes including Doctor Octopus, Electro, Rhino, Lizard and Green Goblin.
