Universal is starting from scratch on its long-gestating Battlestar Galactica feature; it’s hired Jack Paglen, who wrote Transcendence and is writing Ridley Scott’s Prometheus sequel, to write a script, according to Variety. There’s no mention of Bryan Singer, who’d been attatched to the property as recently as 2011 (see "Singer's 'Battlestar' Moving Ahead"), and as long ago as 2001 (see "'X-Men' Helmer Spaces Out").
Original series creator Glen Larson will produce; it doesn’t appear that Ron Moore, who created the two Syfy TV series, will be involved. The story will be a "complete reimagining," according to the report.
