Humanoids will release Alexandro Jodorowsky’s The White Lama and Benito Mambo, by Christian Durieux, this month.
The White Lama, written by Jodorowsky with art by Georges Bess (Son of the Gun), is set in late 19th century Tibet, and tells the life story of the "White Lama." The White Lama is the reincarnation of the Grand Lama Mipam, who is reborn as Gabriel, the orphan of white explorers, and raised by a local family. The 296-page hardcover has an MSRP of $39.95.
Alexandro Jodorowsky is best known for Final Incal, which Humanoids is releasing in two deluxe editions in May (see "'Final Incal' in English").
Benito Mambo, by Christian Durieux (An Enchantment), tells the story of young Benito, who dreams of becoming a mambo dancer. But his billionaire father forbids the dancing dream, and exiles Benito from his home. What follows is a fantastical journey where the boy travels the globe, encountering many quirky characters. The 120-page, full color, oversized deluxe edition has an MSRP of $34.95.
