The U.S. Supreme Court justices will debate taking the appeal of the Jack Kirby heirs in their lawsuit against Marvel on May 15th, according to Deadline. If the court decides to take the case, an oral argument date for the next term will be set.
The Kirby heirs had lost at both the District Court and Circuit Court levels and are looking for the Supremes to reverse the lower court ruling, which they argue "unconstitutionally appropriated Kirby’s valuable copyrights and gave them outright to Marvel, effecting a transfer of wealth on a massive scale" (see "Kirby Heirs Appeal to Supreme Court").
