Former Nerdist CEO Peter Levin has been hired by Lionsgate as President of Interactive Ventures and Games.  Levin will report to Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer and CFO Jimmy Barge.  Levin will be in charge of expanding Lionsgate’s content creation into the video game market , plus "incubation of new properties, investment in existing games and digital media vehicles and leveraging Lionsgate's franchises and other branded properties into the gaming space."
 
Levin is also managing York Ventures, a new early-stage venture firm backed by billionaire brothers Alec and Tom Gores and agent Sam Gores.  It recently invested in Finnish games company Next Games, which is working on a mobile game based on The Walking Dead.   
 
Levin became CEO of Nerdist Industries when it merged with GeekChicDaily, which Levin co-founded.  Nerdist was acquired by Legendary Entertainment in 2012 (see "Legendary acquires Nerdist Industries"), and Levin took the additional role of Co-President, Digital Strategy of Legendary.
