Dynamite Entertainment announced several August releases at the Diamond Retailer Summit this weekend, highlighted by the launch of the mini-series Jennifer Blood: Born Again, penned by Steven Grant (2 Guns, The Punisher).  Peter Milligan’s Terminal Hero, the new Bob’s Burgers comic, the revival of Captain Victory and a second Frank Thorne’s Red Sonja Art Edition will all release in August as well.

Jennifer Blood was created by Garth Ennis and artist Adriano Batista, and Dynamite recently released the trade paperback of Jennifer Blood Vol. 4 (see "Preview: 'Jennifer Blood Vol. 4: The Trial of Jennifer Blood' TP").  Art for the new miniseries will be done by Kewber Baal (Jennifer Blood, Chaos Campus) with covers by Stephen Segovia (Dark Wolverine, Reign in Hell).

"I don't play with other people's toys much anymore," said Grant, "but Jennifer Blood was too juicy a prospect to pass up.  As one of Garth's greatest creations, she was pure psychopulp, that's what I love about her, and the psychopulp is what we're going for as we bring her back from the precipice after she has lost everything, and give her a new focus, a new home and a new direction.  She used to be crazy, with a thick veneer of sane hiding it. Now she's chillingly sane, but it's crazy-sane."

Dynamite previously announced plans to revive Jack Kirby’s Captain Victory, penned by Joe Casey (see "'Captain Victory' by Joe Casey"); now it has announced Captain Victory and the Galactic Rangers #1 will launch in August.   Issue #1 will include interior art by Jim Rugg and Ulises Farinas, with a cover by Nathan Fox.

The comic based on the Bob’s Burgers animated series was announced at Comic-Con last year (see "Dynamite to Publish 'Bob's Burgers' Comic") and Dynamite CEO Nick Barrucci recently announced San Diego Comic-Con launch plans (see "ICv2 Interview: Nick Barrucci, Part 1").  Bob’s Burgers #1, written, drawn, and overseen by the writers, animators, and producers of the TV show, will arrive in August.  The first issue will include themed installment stories: "Louise's Unsolved Mysteries," "Tina's Erotic Friend Fiction," "A Gene Belcher Original Musical," "Letters Written by Linda" and "Bob's Burgers of the Day."

Peter Milligan’s Terminal Hero was announced at Comic-Con last year (see "Dynamite Signs Peter Milligan"), and was later revealed as one of Dynamite’s Creators Unleashed line (see "'The Devilers' First in Creator Driven Line").  Now the title has been confirmed for August launch.

Frank Thorne's Red Sonja Art Edition Vol. 2 will also arrive in August.  The first volume (see "Dynamite to Publish 'Original Art' Collection of Frank Thorne's 'Red Sonja' and "Preview: 'Frank Thorne's Red Sonja Art Edition' HC") was released in April.  This volume includes the storyboard artwork from the first six issues of the 1977 Red Sonja comic book series.
