New York Comic Con Announcement: Today Dynamite Entertainment announced that top drawer comics creator Grant Morrison will join an all-star collection of artists who will collaborate with writer Joe Casey on Captain Victory and the Galactic Rangers #6, the final chapter of Casey and artist Nathan Fox’s homage to the great Jack "King" Kirby (see "'Captain Victory' By Joe Casey").
Captain Victory and the Galactic Rangers #6 will hit retail in January, and will feature Morrison as one of a group of artists that also includes Benjamin Marra (Hip Hop Family Tree), Dan McDaid (Jersey Gods), Jim Mahfood (Grrl Scouts), Michel Fiffe (Copra), Nick Dragotta (East of West), and Tradd Moore (All New Ghost Rider). Morrison, who is best known for writing a wide range of cutting edge comic book series (The Invisibles, etc.), has also been known to take his hand at drawing--he recently provided a variant cover for the final issue Batman Incorporated that he wrote (and which Chris Burnham illustrated).
The final issue of Dynamite’s Captain Victory and the Galactic Rangers will provide readers with a detailed look at Captain Victory’s origins in what is truly a mammoth epic on a very grand scale. It will be solicited in the November issue of Diamond’s Previews.
