Valiant Entertainment has announced Dead Hand, a new X-O Manowar storyline beginning on March 4th in issue #34.
Intended as a jumping-on point for new readers, the story will be written by current series writer Robert Venditti (Green Lantern, The Surrogates), with art by Diego Bernard (Witchblade, Kato). Each issue will feature a "Dead Hand Overlay Wrap" by Lewis LaRosa (Blodshot) that includes the storyline’s title and chapter number. There will be a wraparound alternate cover and a design variant both by Jorge Molina (X-Men, Birds of Prey). Additional variant covers for issue #34 will be provided by Das Pastoras (Thor: God of Thunder, Heavy Metal Magazine) and Butch Guice (Winter Soldier).
The storyline will be the first full-on cosmic plot for the title, and will involve a fail-safe weapon, meant to combat a terrible threat. An alien robot army, Dead Hand was the last resort weapon of a long-dead planet, which is activated and begins to mindlessly cleanse the universe in the search for the menace they were created to destroy.
