The first printing of the Trigun Volume 1 trade paperback, streeting this week from Dark Horse, was set at 35,000 copies, a very strong number for a $14.95 trade paperback. The comic store market ordered in Lone Wolf-like quantities, with the bookstore channel ordering double that amount.
One important factor supporting sales of this title is exposure on Cartoon Network, where the show remains on Adult Swim through November (see 'Adult Swim's November Schedule'). The right-to-left format is a first for Dark Horse. And at 360 pages for $14.95, this book will offer consumers good value.
