A spokesperson for Geneon (previously PioneerAnime) has confirmed to ICv2 that the company will be releasing the sequel to the popular anime comedy romance Ai Yori Aoshi. The fifth and final volume of the 24-episode Ai Yori Aoshi, which has been a major success here in the States, goes on sale tomorrow and contains a note indicating that the love story between Aoi and Kaoru is not complete, and that Geneon would be releasing the sequel Ai Yori Aoshi -- Enishi ('fate') in early 2004. The 12-episode Ai Yori Aoshi -- Enishi series (see 'Ai Yori Aoshi Sequel Airing in Japan') is showing on Japanese TV now. If it appears on DVD in the US in 'early 2004' it will offer further proof that the window between when an anime series appears in Japan and when it comes to the States is shortening even further.
