Variety is reporting that X-Men director Bryan Singer will team with writers Dan Harris and Michael Dougherty 'to create a year's worth of Ultimate X-Men comics for Marvel and then will likely move to the third X-Men film at Fox.' Harris and Dougherty (along with David Hayter) shared writing credits for the well-received X-Men movie sequel, X-2. Before taking on their X-Men chores, however, Harris and Dougherty are penning an adaptation of Orson Scott Card's Ender's Game for director Wolfgang Peterson (Das Boot, Air Force One).
Variety did not indicate when the Hollywood troika would assume the writing chores on the Ultimate X-Men. David Mack is currently scheduled to take over from current Ultimate X-Men scribe Brian Michael Bendis. Mack and Bendis were scheduled to write issues #46-50 together with Mack taking over on his own with #51 (see 'Marvel Plans Ultimate Fantastic Four').
