Archie Comics is planning to reprint the first four issues of the classic Silver Age Comic, The Fly by Joe Simon and Jack Kirby. First published by Archie in 1959 The Fly, who had a youthful alter ego, the proportionate strength of a creepy crawler, the ability to walk on walls, and a special 'sixth' sense that warned him of impending danger, actually pre-dated Spider-Man by three years and is also cited as an influence on other insect-inspired superheroes such as Ant-Man and the Wasp.
Archie is collecting the first four issues of The Fly into a 96-page full color trade paperback with a cover by Joe Stanton. In addition to Simon and Kirby both Jack Davis and Al Williamson contributed to the issues Archie is reprinting. Archie is publishing The Adventures of the Fly trade paperback under its Red Circle imprint with a cover price of $12.95. It ships to retailers on October 6.
