IDW Publishing and Konami Publicity are mounting a major effort to get the word out about IDW's Metal Gear Solid comic book (see 'IDW To Publish Metal Gear Solid Comic'), which will be launched in September.  The main target is what IDW Publisher Ted Adams calls the book's '...most natural audience -- videogame players.'  Over 14 million copies of the videogame have been sold worldwide.    

 

The best publicity is expected from an impressive lineup of some of the biggest videogame magazines.  Gamepro (circulation 3 million) will run an interview and four pages of art.  Nintendo Power (circulation 500,000) will run an article and a six page preview.  The Official Playstation Magazine (circulation 275,000) will run an interview and two pages of art.  Features will also run in Play and EGM.  Numerous videogame Websites will also cover the comic.
