According to the Hollywood Reporter Jessica Alba has overcome some stiff competition from Rachel McAdams and Elizabeth Banks to land the plum role of Sue Storm, the Invisible Girl in Twentieth Century Fox's new adaptation of the Fantastic Four. Alba will star opposite Ioan Gruffud (Mr. Fantastic/Reed Richards), Chris Evans (Johnny Storm, Sue's brother aka the Human Torch) and Michael Chiklis (Ben Grimm/the Thing). Although there has already been some grousing on the fan boards about a brunette Sue Storm, it is hard to imagine that the fans won't warm to Ms. Alba, who is coming off a reportedly very strong performance as Nancy Callahan in the Robert Rodriguez/Frank Miller film of Sin City.
