Issac Perlmutter, Marvel's Vice Chairman and largest stockholder, has been named Chief Executive Officer, effective January 1, 2005.  Perlmutter will replace Alan Lipson, who has decided to retire after five years at Marvel (as Executive VP of Business and Legal Affairs and CEO) during which time he has helped lead Marvel from the throes of bankruptcy to its present debt-free status as one of the world's top licensing companies.  Perlmutter's tenure at Marvel goes back at least a decade and his appointment reflects his contributions, both financial and strategic, which have helped Marvel return to prominence.  All of Marvel Enterprises' division heads will report directly to Mr. Perlmutter.

Mr. Perlmutter has been actively involved in the management of Marvel since acquiring its predecessor in 1990.  He has served as a director of the Company since 1993, as Chairman of the Board for 1993-1995, and was named Vice Chairman of the Board in 2001.
