Checker Book Publishing has acquired the rights to publish two volumes of collections of the X-Files comic books, originally published by Topps Comics.  The first Checker volume is slated for March 2005 and picks up where the Topps Collections left off reprinting issues 13-19, which include five original stores as well as adaptations of the X-Files pilot episode as well as the famous 'Squeeze' episode.  The full color, 200-page trade paperback will retail for $19.95 ($31.95 in Canada).

 

The second Checker collection of X-Files comics, which collects issues 20-26 as well as issue one-half and the X-Files Comics Digest, will also retail for $19.95 and is currently slated for summer of 2005.

 

The X-Files comic book was the flagship of Topps Comics during the early 1990s and remained in the top 50 throughout its publication.  The Topps comic, which was based on the multi-award winning TV series (16 Emmys and 5 Golden Globes), featured interior art by Charles Adlard covers by Miran Kim and was written by Stefan Petrucha, Kevin J. Anderson and John Rozum.
