Calum Johnston of Strange Adventures Bookshops in Halifax, Nova Scotia and Fredericton, New Brunswick saw our coverage of the Revenge of the Sith box office grosses (see 'Weekend Box Office 'Sith'-illating'), and let us know that he'd prefer comparisons of attendance instead of money:

It's such nonsense talking about box-office receipts.  Ticket prices vary so much from year to year and even month to month.  Gone with the Wind or Snow White are still among the all-time box-office champs where it counts -- attendance.  How many tickets were sold to see Revenge of the Sith?  That's how one should compare movies.  How many warm bodies actually took it upon themselves to go out in the world and make the effort to go see the movie.  Not how much was spent on tickets that now cost double digits!  That's such useless information when compared to twenty, ten or even five year old box-office numbers.  Compare attendance, that's what counts and should be counted.

That so much time and energy is wasted in the reporting of such monetary drivel is deeply saddening.
