4Kids Entertainment has awarded video rights for its Winx Club animated series to FUNimation Productions, which distributes 4Kids' Yu-Gi-Oh! videos as well as its own mass-market-friendly titles including Dragon Ball Z, Dragon Ball GT, Full Metal Alchemist and Yu Yu Hakusho.  The Winx Club is an Italian property with a strong appeal to girls and 4Kids has positioned it in its Saturday morning animated block.

FUNimation has scheduled the first Winx Club DVD for a July 12th release. The DVD will include a free Winx Club TCG card from Upper Deck (see 'Winx Club TCG Exclusive at TRU').  The DVD will also include video features on the Winx Club comic books (originally created in Italy) and the Winx Club Magical Fairy TCG.
