DK Publishing Director of Marketing Jay Henry and Marketing Manager Bess Braswell told ICv2 at this year's San Diego Comic-Con International that DK plans to publish the Marvel Comics Encyclopedia, tentatively scheduled for the fall of 2006, in the same format as its DC Comics Encyclopedia, which came out in late 2004.
Also discussed was the Spring, 2006 release of the Superman Ultimate Guide revision, which will update the former version of that title, which had contents that covered through 2001. This new version will add 2002-2005 to the contents.
Following that, DK will publish Superman Returns: The Visual Guide, in the same format as DK's Batman: The Visual Guide. This new book will be released in June of 2006, the same day as the Superman Returns movie.
These will join the already announced The Avengers: The Ultimate Guide (see 'DK's 'How to Draw Marvel Characters'') and Star Wars: The Ultimate Guide (see ''The Complete Locations of Star Wars'') in DK's strong, continually expanding line of high quality hardcovers.
