Airwave Publishing has announced its first two book projects, Alan Moore Spells It Out and Dan DeCarlo's Jetta.  Alan Moore Spells It Out (cover price $9.95) is an 80-page transcription of an in-depth interview with Moore conducted by Bill Baker, a full time comics journalist whose work has appeared in Sketch, Comic Book Marketplace and Cinefantastique/CFQ.  In the interview Moore discusses the creative process at length and talks about magic and its relationship with language and with creativity.  Alan Moore Spells It Out is due out in November.

Also scheduled for a November release is Airwave's second book project, the first trade paperback collection of Dan DeCarlo's Jetta comics from the 1950s.  Bongo's Bill Morrison will provide the cover for this collection and a majority of the proceeds from the sales of this volume will go to DeCarlo's widow, Josie (the inspiration for Josie and the Pussycats).  Fan favorite Dan DeCarlo, known for his stylish linework, occupied a similar position at Archie Comics to that of Carl Barks, who was known as the duck artist, at Disney/Dell/Western.
