Dark Horse Entertainment, which conducted an elaborate faux news conference at WonderCon to create interest in Monarch of the Moon, will actually premiere the 1940s-style superhero serial spoof at the New York Comic-Con at 9:15 p.m. on February 24th.  After pretending that Monarch of the Moon was a lost propaganda film from World War II only recently discovered in the archives of Mosfilm in Moscow, Dark Horse now admits that the film, which follows the adventures of America's greatest superhero, The Yellow Jacket, to capture Japan's deadliest agent, The Dragonfly, was actually produced in 2005.

The film finds plenty of humor in the conventions of the movie serial adventures of the 1930s and 1940s.  It manages to mute some of the anti-Japanese and anti-German aspects of the WW II serials with an outrageous plot that has the Axis powers in an unholy alliance with Moonmen determined to take over the world.
