Sony has announced the June 13th release of The Boondocks Season 1 (MSRP $49.95).  The three-disk set will include all 15 first season episodes of the animated series based on the newspaper comic strip by Aaron McGruder uncut and uncensored.  The DVDs includes songs from Kanye West and other top rap artists plus a number of extras including commentaries on 7 episodes, an exclusive behind-the-scenes featurette, and DVD-Rom storyboards.

The Cartoon Network recently ordered 20 additional episodes of The Boondocks (see 'The Boondocks Renewed for Second Season').  Reginald Hudlin, who writes The Black Panther for Marvel, produces the animated series along with McGruder.
