In conjunction with a broad release of many products based on its new Marvel license, Hasbro will launch a Marvel version of its Milton Bradley Heroscape game in January. The first product will include enough components to allow play with no additional purchases. For a $30 MSRP, purchasers will tentatively receive ten figures (five heroes and five villains), city terrain, and a structure with a breakable wall.
This product will test the waters for future Marvel Heroscape releases. A Hasbro source told us that the company is aware of the demand for this game in comic and game stores, and that the pricing structure that has been established in the past doesn't work for those channels (see 'Heroscape Boosters Planned'). The company is currently looking at options for hobby game and comic store distribution.
Hasbro is also releasing a Marvel version of its Attacktix game (see 'Hasbro Plans Marvel Attacktix').
