The Origins Awards process has been updated to include retailer and public input this year. The new process involves the same publisher/creator self-nominations and selection process from a jury representing the Academy of Adventure Gaming Arts and Design, but retailers will vote to narrow down the nominees to five in each category at the GAMA Trade Show in April, and attendees at Origins will cast the deciding votes in July.

Products selected by the Origins Award jury will be on display at GTS in Las Vegas April 23rd-26th, with voting by retailers open through April 24th.  The 'silver-winning' or 'Nominated' products of the year will be announced on April 25th.   The Nominated products will be on display at Origins International Games Expo in Columbus, Ohio July 5th-8th, where attendees will vote and winners will be announced at a ceremony. (In previous years attendees voted in the Gamer's Choice Awards.)

Origins attendees will also have the opportunity to vote for the Origins New Release Award which will honor the best New Release at Origins. More details about that award will be released closer to the show.
