Japanese toymaker Takara has announced that Hasbro division Wizards of the Coast is developing a new CCG for it to distribute in Japan. Sales of the new game are expected to begin this spring. The project is part of a broad alliance between Hasbro and Takara that began last October. According to the announcement, the entry in the CCG market is part of Takara's efforts to boost its sales to 100 billion yen ($762.5 million) per year. It remains to be seen whether the game will be based on a Takara property or a new one, whether the game mechanics will be related to existing WotC products, and whether the game will eventually be sold in the U.S..
