WizKids has announced a schedule of MechWarrior releases that reflects a change in strategy that emphasizes Action Packs over straight expansions and also implements a new gladiatorial form of one-on-one combat (see 'WizKids Retools MechWarrior').  The House Davion Action Pack kick things off in April followed by two Championship Action Packs (June and July) and the 'mech on mech' combat of MechWarrior: Solaris VII in August.

The House Davion Action Pack (MSRP $29.99) contain six new mechs including the powerful Templar and the signature Enforcer III along with 4 assault-class and 2 medium-class pilots.  The two MechWarrior Champions Packs feature 4 mechs chosen by championship players along with pilot cards commemorating the champions themselves.  The MechWarrior Champions Pack I (MSRP $29.99), which is due out in June, honors the top four finishers in the MechWarrior Fellowship Tournament in 2006, while the MechWarrior Champions Pack II (MSRP $29.99), which is slated for July, features mechs chosen by the winners of the 2006 MechWarrior World Championships.

The MechWarrior: Solaris VII release features four different Action Packs and new updated rules to allow for gladiatorial, one-on-one combat in the arena on the planet Solaris VII.  The Solaris VII Action Packs will be available at the beginning of August to allow gamers time to practice for the first Solaris VII World Championship event, which will be held at GenCon Indy.
