WizKids is reporting that its Star Wars PocketModel TCG sampling program, which runs until July 30th, has stimulated more that 50,000 consumers to print out coupons for a free Star Wars PocketModel pack, which includes three PocketModels (one X-Wing and two TIE Fighters).  Consumers who click on the 'Free Star Wars PocketModel' buttons on the Star Wars, Cartoon Network and WizKids Websites are immediately directed to a retail locator where they can print out a coupon for a free sample pack and a list of retailers in their area that are participating in the program.

According to WizKids more than 1,600 retailers from all 50 states are participating in the promotion (see 'WizKids Star Wars Ads Direct Fans to Stores').  Participating retailers received between 25 and 100 sample packs to give away.  If only a modest percentage of the consumers who downloaded the free coupons take advantage of them, with 50,000 coupons downloaded, it should amount to a substantial number of new customers heading to local game stores.
