Games Workshop has provided some preliminary details concerning its second tabletop miniatures game based on the Lord of the Rings Trilogy.  Games Workshop plans on releasing its Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers Game in mid-November, about one month before the second installment of the LOTR trilogy, also known as LOTR: The Two Towers, hits the movie theaters.  The retail price of the Games Workshop Two Towers game will be $39.95.  Like the first Games Workshop Rings game, The Fellowship of the Ring, the Two Towers is likely to be a Diamond/Alliance Exclusive (see 'Diamond/Alliance Gets LOTR Exclusive').

The Two Towers game will utilize the same basic rule system employed by Games Workshop for its Fellowship of the Ring game, but the game itself will mirror the action in the Two Towers film with grueling sieges and gripping full scale combat as opposed to the skirmishing that characterized the Fellowship game (and movie).

Games Workshop is also creating some stand-alone miniatures that can be used with any of their LOTR games.  In July the company is releasing a large Sauron figure that will retail somewhere in the $9.99 to $12.99 range.  As befits the outsized powers of the dark wizard, the Sauron figure, although produced to scale, will be larger than the other miniatures produced for the games.
