Montreal-based Polymancer Studios has announced that it will be publishing both print and PDF material supporting 4th Edition D&D under its new FourthRight imprint.  The material will be produced under the terms of Wizards of the Coast’s Game System License with the first items published under the FourthRight banner set for an October debut.  The terms of the GSL allow for the publishing of adventure scenarios as well as monster, power, and NPC compendiums.

WotC’s original announcement of an OGL and open-source gaming in 2000 led to an over-proliferation of third party products for 3rd Edition D&D, a situation WotC attempted to remedy with a two-phase structure (including a $5,000 OGL Designer’s Kit) for making 4th Edition content available to third party developers (see “WotC 4th Edition SRD and OGL Release Schedule”).  But delays in the development of the license led WotC to skip the first phase entirely and move directly to the second phase (see "Interview with Scott Rouse, Part 1"), which provided for the first release of third party products in October.
