Mayfair Games and Academy Games have announced an agreement under which Mayfair will handle the sales and marketing as well as fulfillment for Academy Games.  The agreement will allow Academy Games to concentrate on developing additional titles for its award-winning Conflict of Heroes line of military board games and to publish other games that it has in development.

Founded by designer Uwe Eichert, Academy Games publishes Conflict of Heroes, a series of squad-level strategic games set during World War II. Conflict of Heroes: Awakening the Bear! Russia 1941-1942 won the 2009 Origins Award for the “Best Historical Board Game.”  Academy has also released Conflict of Heroes: Storms of Steel—Eastern Front 1943-45, which allows players to recreate the greatest tank battle in history, which took place at Kursk in 1943.

Founded in the early 1980s, Mayfair Games publishes a large roster of card and board games including the award-winning Settlers of Catan and Empire Builder series of board games.  Since 2005 Mayfair has been distributing Phalanx Games here in North America.
