As GenCon approaches game manufacturers are releasing information on their upcoming products.  One of Mayfair’s key board game releases is Lords of Vegas (MSRP $45.00), a very social strategy game designed by James Earnest and Mike Selinker for 2-4 players ages 12 and over.  Set in the desert crossroads of Las Vegas in 1950, the object of Lords of Vegas, which takes 60-90 minutes to play, is to build the biggest, glitziest, most glamorous casino.

Players in Lords of Vegas are rival developers building on the Las Vegas strip who have to buy, sell, trade and gamble their way to the top.  Each player begins with empty lots, builds small casinos, and expands them as their bankrolls grow.  Rivals can build next door to each other, and with a clever paint job and a lucky roll of the dice they can take over each other’s operations.

Each deluxe Lords of Vegas board game, which features a period cover by Fastner & Larson, includes a snazzy game board, 4 turn summaries, 55 cards, 40 chips in four colors, 48 dice in four colors, 4 poker chips, loads of money, 45 casino blocks, and rules.
