The Memphis Business Journal has reported that Games Workshop is planning to open a 100,000 square foot production, distribution, and sales facility in Memphis. The facility will be built-to-suit, and will begin as a distribution and sales facility. Over the next two years, the company plans to begin manufacturing pewter and plastic figures in Memphis for the U.S. market; currently the only GW facility that manufactures both metal and plastic components is in England. Initial staffing will be about 25, building to 129 over three years. The company hopes to open the facility by June 2003. It will also house a retail operation and a Battle Bunker gaming space.
