Over the last five years, Pandemic has been one of the most popular cooperative boardgames on the market.  Z-Man Games recently released a second edition of the game (see "'Pandemic 2nd Edition'").  A new version of the first expansion, On the Brink, and second expansion, In the Lab, are planned.  And to help those who already have the first edition of the game transition to the second, Z-Man will soon offer two Compatibility Packs. 
 
The new edition of On the Brink is planned for a July release.  This version of the expansion will include a component tray large enough to hold all of the components from the base game and both expansions.
 
In the Lab will be released at Gen Con.  It will only be compatible with the second edition of the base game and On the Brink.  This expansion creates a new way to play the game, with the players working in a sealed bio lab trying to find a cure for the virus in time.
 
Compatibility Pack #1 includes all of the cards from the Pandemic second edition base game, including the two new roles added to the game.  Pack #2 includes all of the cards from the new edition of On the Brink.  By adding the correct Compatibility Pack to their first edition games, players will be able to use the new sets and expansions.  Both Compatibility Packs will only be sold on the Z-Man website.
