Margaret Weis Productions has provided updated information and release dates for several upcoming (delayed) releases for the Firefly Roleplaying Game (see "Seven 'Firefly' RPG Releases"): Things Don’t Go Smooth, Smugglers Guide to the Rim and Firefly: Ghosts in the Black.
Things Don’t Go Smooth will be released in November. The supplement is designed for GMs, but includes lots of useful information for players as well. The book contains new antagonists, unexplainable phenomena, and a wealth of story hooks, as well as new rules such as scene Triggers (so GMs can roll more dice) and advice on integrating Reavers into the Cortex Plus game system. For players there are new ships and over 50 character Distinctions and Signature Assets. It also includes the playable Episodes Merciless and Thieves in Heaven. MSRP is $34.99.
Smugglers Guide to the Rim will release in February. The soft-cover supplement expands the ‘Verse by introducing new trade routes in the Blue Sun and Kalidasa Systems, and new rules for players to build their reputation. The book also contains 12 new archetypes, new ships and a new Episode written by Margaret Weis: All in the Family. MSRP is $34.99.
Firefly: Ghosts in the Black, planned for April release, is a full-length adventure campaign book designed by Robin Laws. The soft-cover book contains five Episodes: Six Cylinders Make a Right, Prisoner 3102Y, Tombstone Bullets and a Graveyard Mind, Hellhound Trail and The Big Dark, where players uncover dangerous secrets of an Alliance warship. The book contains new NPCs, ships and towns and offers advice on running the Episodes as a non-linear campaign. MSRP is $34.99.
All three books are supplements and require the Firefly RPG corebook to play.
